About Us

Papa Cino’s is a basement restaurant in the heart of Northampton. You will find us hidden beneath the junction of Fish Street and Dychurch Lane right in the centre of town amongst the busy cafés pubs and restaurants of the St. Giles Quarter. We are just 2 minutes walk from the historic town market, 5 minutes from the Royal and Derngate Theatres and just a minute from the wonderful unique shops and boutiques of St Giles Street.

Papa Cino’s menus and wine list have an unmistakable Italian influence. I hesitate to say that we are an “Italian restaurant” as there are not many Italians among us. However, WE LOVE ITALIAN FOOD. We take great care in our cooking, using a range of authentic ingredients. By adding our passion for creating great food, we present our interpretation of traditional Italian dishes and create some super dishes entirely of our own recipes.  Overall we aim to offer a fine taste of the magic that is Italian dining.

Our unique dining rooms are entirely hand painted in a Trattoria style, they have a character of their own, creating an informal relaxed environment. (As you will see from the pictures within) Our service is friendly but attentive. Whether you are a single diner, a table for two, dining with family or friends or in a large party, (WE LOVE PARTIES  we can cater for groups of up to 80), we will adapt our service to suit your dining circumstances ensuring that you have a great experience at Papa Cinos.

WE LOVE WINE too. Especially Italian wine so our wine list is entirely Italian, (with exception of the Champagne). It offers a selection ranging from the famous Italian classic wines to those made from less common, indigenous grape varieties. From the crisp whites from the very north of Italy, to the full rounded reds from the very tip of Sicily, and many regions between, not forgetting the prestigious Tuscan we will find an Italian wine to compare with any style from around the rest of the globe. After all we should never forget what the “Romans did for us” (PFJ c30 AD) and the rest of the civilised world by refining viniculture.

And WE LOVE MUSIC. Our music is predominantly Jazz, Fusion, Latin and Soul, though when Papa’s is rocking with parties, particularly at weekends.
